Reiki

Within the realm of energy healing, Reiki stands as a well known practice. Its origins trace back to a century ago, to the mystical mountainside of Mount Kurama in Japan, where Dr. Makao Usui on a deep twenty-one day meditative experience in a sacred forest, began to receive transmissions and downloads. The Reiki attunements and symbols came to life and a powerful, yet subtle system and way of working with energy emerged.

At the heart of Reiki, lies a sacred dance with this universal life force energy, an exquisite interplay of "rei" and "ki." "Rei" bears the essence of "free passage," "universal," and "transcendental spirit," while "ki" brings to life the concepts of "vital life force energy" and "universal life energy." In this divine union of "rei" and "ki," Reiki presents a gentle yet potent life force that infuses harmony, balance and greater love into existence.

When the current of life force energy flows freely, in an unbroken rhythm, a state of harmonious equilibrium takes root within us. It is a state of being where we find ourselves thriving, bathed in a symphony of balance. However, like a river momentarily stalled or a breeze that wanes to a standstill, our well-being can mirror the stagnation or depletion of energy within us and Reiki can gently begin to open and move through these areas of stagnation, balancing depleted or excessive energy flow.

Its gentle and subtle grace is appropriate for all, including those that may feel more vulnerable and sensitive, a soothing and beautiful treatment for young children, those experiencing illness with weakened immune systems, the elderly, and animals - Reiki transcends all barriers and is suitable for all.

As with my other offerings, Reiki can be done in-person and remotely. And each session is approximately 45 to 60 minutes long.

“Reiki is love,
Love is wholeness,
Wholeness is balance,
Balance is well-being,
Well-being is freedom from disease”
— Dr. Mikao Usui
